FAQ'sQ. Will this product work on any material? A. Our reflective iron ons work best on performance wicking apparel. This is the type of clothing preferred by athletes for it's wicking properties and fast drying. Our product also works very well on 50/50 Poly/Cotton blends. Our product also adheres to cotton, however, over time the iron on may appear to wrinkle and may require some light pressing on very low ironing temps. Our reflective iron ons have also been tested and work excellent with lycra and spandex materials like cycling shorts and Under Armour apparel. You can also use this product on 100% nylon shells like running jackets and running pants. Please always use the test piece first as indicated by the instructions. Q. What's wrong with cotton? A. Cotton is ok it's just that it shrinks a little in the wash and that tends to show up as tiny wrinkles after a number of washes. The best thing to do with cotton apparel is to pre-wash the garment several times prior to applying a reflective iron on to get the shrinkage out of the way. Q. Are there any materials your reflective materials won't work with? A. Yes. It definitely won't work with fleece. Fleece is not able to handle the temperature that the iron needs to be set at. Please do not attempt to apply to fleece. Q. How can I test it to see if it's reflective? A. Easy.... Find a dark hallway or room, hang up the newly reflective garment on one end, stand as far away from it as possible and shine a flashlight on it. It should reflect a bright light back to you almost as if the shirt was battery powered. Q. Do the kits come with shirts? A. No. The kits come with 2 iron ons (1 for the front and 1 for the back)to be applied to your own shirt. We also include a test piece which you can apply to the sleeve or somewhere less noticable for testing. We can fulfill orders for running clubs and local running events which would include performance running shirts at a low cost when you order 25 or more kits. See 'Custom Orders' under 'More Information'. Q. Will this guarantee my safety? A. Of course not. Nobody can guarantee your safety. But it will help you be more visible. You still need to be extremely vigilant when running and cycling during low light hours. Go ahead and incorporate these reflective iron ons along with other safety devices such as blinking leds and headlamps to increase your safety. The more you have the better off you will be. Q. Where on the garment should I apply the reflective iron ons? A. On shirts, we like to apply the product on the chest area and on the small of the back or just slightly higher. On pants we like to apply it around the waist/hip area and/or around the outside of the knee. The idea is to give yourself 360 degrees of reflectivity since you don't always know which way danger is coming from. Q. What is a “kit”? A. A kit simply put consists of 1 reflective iron on for the front side of your shirt, another identical iron on for the back side of your shirt and 1 small reflective iron on you can use anywhere on your shirt to test out you applying skills. Q. How long will the iron on last? A. Nothing lasts forever but these iron ons will last a very long time so long as you take good care of them. Wash the garment inside out every time and always dry low. If you want even longer lasting iron ons, wash using the delicate cycle and make sure there is nothing in that load that will scratch the reflective material. |
